OMG. My entry for a contest Brianne was holding. One of the options was to draw Lala, so I was all over that. The prizes were impressive and I wanted to make sure to put some serious effort into my drawing! I chipped away at this over a few weeks, working in spurts of an hour or so at a time. The coloring took the longest. Backgrounds are not my friend. ;)
Brianne's rules stated that we could portray Lala with other members of the Matihao Whenua, and I thought that would be a fun idea. I incorporated quite a few of them here:
Panel 1 -- Kael (left) and Koura (right).
Panel 2 -- Sabine.
Panel 3 -- Acadia (foreground) and Grimm (background).
Panel 4 -- Tane. Panel 5 -- Collishaw.
Lala herself is the star, so I limited how much of each fellow clan member was shown. :) She's so tiny compared to everyone else, I couldn't help but run with that. Mwahahah! I had too many little scenarios in my head and therefore chose the multi-panel route instead of picking one scene to portray. Lala is one of those subjects that just gets the ol' inspiration going.
